I'm so glad you have made it to our site! I am the president and founder of PUBLIC HEALTH PHC: FOUNDATION FOR ADVOCACY INITIATIVES, INC., and I am urrently a college freshman with a fervent passion for advocating for public health issues throughout my community. Amidst this desire to spread awareness, I have started a club, an Instagram page, and now a website! I hope that with this website, I can further inspire other individuals, especially those in high school who are eager like myself to advocate! With this website, I encourage you all to look at the resources provided to spread awareness in your community, become informed by personal stories and a forum discussion, as well as learn more about public health!

A Brief Timeline to Inception

September 2020

The public health club was created, which we referred to as PHC, wink wink. Our goal was and is to spread awareness, promote recognition of current issues, help those facing various difficulties, and encourage advocacy within our community regarding public health matters and the struggles many face, especially during these difficult times. Whether food insecurity, medical concerns, or prevalent public health issues, there are many matters relevant in our society today that must be discussed and recognized in our community to benefit our future world.

October 2020

Hosting our first event and posting corresponding pictures to our newly found social media account! Still, I thought small -- a club at my school. We hosted our first advocacy day for Autism Awareness. I truly had such a blast, collaborating with other club members to advocate, spreading awareness, and helping my community.

June 2021

It wasn't until a year later till I said "why not?" Thinking I would have no impact as only a high schooler, I had remained with this school club for so long. But I wanted to take it a step further and start advocating globally. In this, I founded Public Health PHC: A Foundation for Initiatives. The PHC came from the acronym we used for the small club: the public health club. Drafting the plans over the summer, we started with only 30 followers on our Instagram and only 5 posts.

September 2021

The start of a global Instagram. I started creating infographics, using my small club and group at my school to provide examples of how to advocate and develop a foundation as a tool for high schoolers to learn more and receive service for doing so! for infographics and blog posts. Reinvigorated advocacy days, and blossoming partnerships with the ACCO, I was so excited to see how this small idea could emerge into something large and impactful beyond the scope of my community, so much so that I started the first fundraiser, which accumulated over 1500 dollars!

June 2022

Starting in February 2022, I began creating a website to provide resources, information, calendars, and more beyond the scope of Instagram. Leading numerous advocacy days with my small club had been the best idea ever. Starting small is sometimes what you need to do to reach something even greater. In June 2022, the website was completed and launched, and I am so eager to help others directly and indirectly as a funnel for resources and information for aspiring students of public health. And guess what, we're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization!

With hundreds of followers, an advocacy plan for the year, inspiration, resources, and examples to spread awareness, dozens of posts, fundraisers, and numerous partnerships, we can't wait to see what the future beholds for Public Health PHC: Foundation for Advocacy Initiatives!
